Exchanges are conducted under a huge variety of different formats, inducing different features in the participation, the dispersion in prices, and the share of profits. The seminar aims at studying the design of exchanges. This year, it will be mainly devoted to intermediaries in financial exchanges. In particular, we will consider decentralized over the counter markets and their regulation, the impact of the use of central clearing counterparties on the participants and the stability of exchanges (systemic risk), the effect of competition between venues of exchanges.
